1.) Please tell us about your family.
My name is Christina Swinburnson, wife to Benji. We both grew up in Lynden, Washington, and attended public school there. We have five children: Josephine (5th grade at ECS), Margot (3rd grade at ECS), Ivan (Kindergarten at ECS), Anna (3 yrs. old) and a baby boy on the way.
2.) How did you first hear about Everett Christian School? How long have you been involved with the school?
We were first interested in ECS when our oldest daughter was four. We were looking at Christian Schools near us that were centered on Christ and taught from a biblical worldview. We had known about ECS from some families in our church who had sent their children to this school. We have several members in their 60s and 70s who attended ECS when they were children.
3.) What is one special memory you have of your time at ECS?
A special memory I have of Everett Christian School was from one of the first chapels I attended. It was such a blessing to see the children begin the school day opening God's word and singing praises to the Lord of all the earth.
4.) In your opinion, what is the best thing about Everett Christian School?
My favorite thing about ECS is the teachers. They work hard to teach the children all the basics of education, but also consciously do this from a biblical and Christ-centered worldview. At the same time, they have exemplified the character of Christ in their patience and love towards the children and their families according to their differing needs.
5.) What are your hopes for the future of ECS? What are your dreams?
My hopes and dreams for ECS is that more families would find this gem of a school and join in the pursuit of educating children in the fear of God. A dream would be that one day a high school would be added to ECS.
